Experience

William Mahfood is Chairman of the Wisynco Group, a leading Jamaican company in the manufacture, distribution and retail of beverages, agro-process and consumer products. William’s career began as a warehouse supervisor at Wisynco Trading, working for the family, learning the ethics of hard work. This followed with an exceptional 20-year stint as the company’s Managing Director then the appointment as Chairman of the Wisynco Group in 2014. During his time at Wisynco, he and his team have championed the creation of outstanding beverage innovations such as WATA, CRAN-WATA, BIGGA and BOOM. These combined with many other brands that the company manages and are partnered with makes Wisynco the largest fast moving consumer goods company (FMCG) in Jamaica today.

Beyond Wisynco, William is passionate about building a stronger Jamaica.   He has served on teams in support of national interests and community upliftment; these include The Shaggy Foundation, Food for the Poor, Violence Prevention Alliance, Laws Street Trade Training Centre, Crime Stop, the Electricity Sector Enterprise Team, and his appointment as President of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica (2014-2016).  He has also served on numerous boards including Jamaica National Group, Jamaica National Money Services, Jamaica Producers Snacks Caribbean, Trade Winds Citrus, Worthy Park Estate and others.

In 2011, William received an honorary doctor of public service degree from Northern Caribbean University and in 2016; he was awarded the American Chamber of Commerce Business and Civic Leadership Awards for Excellence – President’s Award for his contribution to national development and Brand Jamaica. Most recently, William was awarded the American Friends of Jamaica 2017 International Humanitarian Award in recognition of his contribution to the improvement of the lives of countless Jamaicans.

William received his degree in Industrial Engineering and Information Systems from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.  He is married to Frances Feanny and is the proud father of one son and three daughters.
